Riser Analysis

Scroll down for more

The Genesis riser design team has more than 19 years’ experience in the design, analysis, procurement and delivery of riser and well systems for offshore field developments.

Different types of risers are suitable for different field developments. And risers can represent 10 per cent of the cost and 90 per cent of the challenge in a field development.

Our team supports clients with early phase riser and well system projects. We start from concept selection and field development planning, helping operators select cost-effective solutions that are robust and withstand the scrutiny of stage gates.

In the execution phase, we perform riser design and analysis, follow equipment delivery and can support offshore installation.

The risers we design are connected to a range of different hosts (Spar, Semi-submersible, TLP, and FPSO) and are located worldwide (APAC, Brazil, Gulf of Mexico, Guyana, North Sea and West Africa).

We have designed and delivered risers for the different development needs of production, drilling, completion, workover, gas lift and water injection applications.

These include:

  • Top tensioned risers and subsea well systems

  • Steel catenary risers

  • Steel lazy wave risers

  • Flexible catenary risers

  • Free-standing hybrid risers

  • Flexible and umbilical buoyant-wave riser arrangements (Lazy Wave/Pliant Wave/Lazy S)

  • Conventional conductors, risers and I-tube/J-tubes for fixed platforms.

We can tap into our other disciplines to provide seamless interface support.

We also offer asset integrity management support for risers to ensure their safety through our proprietary equipment, software and engineering services.

Deepest water depth riser systems engineered:

  • TTR – 2,340 metres (7,800 feet)

  • FSHR – 2,500 metres (8,200 feet)

  • SCR – 2,100 metres (7,000 feet)

  • Flexible risers – more than 1,300 metres (4,340 feet)

  • SLWR – 2,000 metres (6,560 feet)
