Genesis is pleased to announce the appointment of William Pilkington as Managing Director.
William steps into the role following more than a decade with Genesis and brings over 16 years of experience in the global energy industry.
He succeeds Helen Coleman, who has served as Managing Director for the past three years. During this time, her strong leadership has been instrumental in shaping Genesis’ success, strengthening the business and supporting its people. Helen will transition to a new role within Technip Energies’ Consulting Services, with a further announcement to follow.
Throughout his career at the company, he has held various senior leadership roles, including heading major project pursuits and the London office, with a strong focus on transport and storage developments and capability building across the organisation.
He has extensive experience supporting brownfield and greenfield developments across the full project lifecycle, from concept and pre-FEED through to FEED, construction and operations.
William also has significant experience in markets relevant to the energy transition, having led complex offshore and onshore wind, and carbon capture, utilisation and storage (CCUS) projects.
He is recognised for combining technical expertise with disciplined delivery, enabling clients to progress large-scale infrastructure projects safely, efficiently and with a clear focus on value.
William’s appointment reflects both his strong leadership track record and his deep understanding of our clients’ needs. His experience across the full project lifecycle, combined with his focus on delivery excellence and value realisation positions him well to lead Genesis through its next phase of growth.
Genesis plays a critical role supporting our clients at the earliest stages of project development, and under William’s leadership, we will continue to strengthen our position as a trusted advisor to the global energy sector.
As Managing Director, William will lead Genesis through its next phase of growth, positioning the business to support clients in a rapidly evolving energy landscape shaped by the dual challenge of decarbonisation and energy security.
His focus will be on strengthening Genesis’ role as a collaborative and trusted advisor, working closely with clients to maximise value creation across the project lifecycle.
Genesis has a strong legacy and an exciting future. I look forward to building on our strengths, our people, our expertise and our client relationships to ensure that we continue to deliver outstanding value while unlocking new opportunities for growth.
Under his leadership, Genesis will continue to build on its differentiated position, combining deep technical capability with a pragmatic, delivery-centric mindset to help clients create long-term value and achieve high-quality project outcomes.
