FatHopes Energy (FHE), in collaboration with Bin Zayed International (BZI) Group, has appointed Technip Energies, through its market-leading consulting company Genesis, and Wison Engineering Ltd. to undertake the Technical Feasibility Study (TFS) for its proposed Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) refinery in Malaysia.
The award represents a significant step forward in advancing one of Southeast Asia’s most ambitious renewable fuel projects and supporting the global aviation industry’s decarbonisation goals.
The study will evaluate and optimise the refinery’s design and technical configuration, defining core engineering and economic parameters that will guide the project toward Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) and future investment decisions. The work will help shape the next phase of the renewable fuels facility by establishing key design criteria and evaluating pathways for Hydroprocessed Esters and Fatty Acids (HEFA) production.
FatHopes Energy selected Genesis following a rigorous Request for Proposal (RfP) process concluded in late 2025, citing our global engineering track record and strong SAF and energy transition project history. The feasibility study is expected to be completed by Q2 2026 and will include site planning, process flow configurations, mass and energy balances, and early-stage engineering deliverables required for a Final Investment Decision (FID).
